Robert Germaux trained as a chef and has worked as a restaurateur in Belgium, Spain and New York. In addition to teaching cooking classes, Robert offers a catering service, along with his English wife, Penny. He looks forward to sharing some of their favourite recipes and food discussions with you!

I was brought up in Belgium in the town of Spa and my mother owned one of the good restaurants in town.

In the early 70’s, I started to give free cooking classes to a few friends who had never found the time to learn; this took 3 years of my life and turned into more than a hobby; I had an average of 8 to 12 ladies an  gentlemen at my benahavis house (now a beautiful hotel www.amanhavis.com ) every Friday and this forced me to learn how to describe it all in 3 or 4 languages, many of my “pupils” have remained friends till this day and some of them have turned into very fine cooks.
I keep on giving cooking classes to a minimum of 4 and max. 8 pers.

For instance if you have never really cooked I suggest a set of 5 X 3 hours lessons to include lunch.
